Indie development studio Wyrmbyte announced their first major project, Dragons and Titans, a multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA, for short; the genre includes Awesomenauts and League of Legends). Wyrmbyte, with the assistance of Zynga, will release Dragons and Titans later this month on Facebook for the current 298 million active Zynga game players. The Zynga Platform is a social gaming platform designed to enhance how games and the social environment interact.
Dragons and Titans will be a moderate to hardcore MOBA game, which pits two teams of five players against each other. The game features both single-player and co-op modes. Players will choose from seventeen special dragons to play as, along with sixteen special weapons. As matches progress players will be able to access new skills and abilities. Over time, dragons and specials weapons will level up as they are used, adding an element of mastery to the game. When launched, Wyrmbyte seeks to add new content and features on a weekly basis.
“After years of playing and building games online, I realized there is a lack of highly-polished, real-time multiplayer games available to play completely within a standard web browser. I saw this opportunity and assembled a killer team to fill this gaping hole with our first title, Dragons and Titans.” – Scott Brown, founder and president of Wyrmbyte
Wyrmbyte is led by Scott Brown, a twenty year game development veteran with experience on large projects like LEGO Universe. Wyrmbyte looks to create the best social gaming environment within a unique game and have it easily available to play.
