It took seven years, two console systems and a complete rebranding (at least as much as anything Final Fantasy can be rebranded), but excited fans of the Final Fantasy franchise will be able to play Final Fantasy Versus XIII, now Final Fantasy XV, on the PS4.
The Sony conference at E3 had Tetsuya Nomura lamenting (via pre-recorded video), that he did not have much from Square Enix to show, though more would be coming in the near future. He then continued, giving fans what was arguably the biggest news from the Sony conference aside from the goods about the PS4.
Final Fantasy XV, as stated earlier, was first announced at E3 2006 alongside Final Fantasy XIII as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, as part of the the Fabula Nova Crystallis collection of Final Fantasy games. These games strongly share several elements of setting and mythos, though are not directly related to each other.
While Final Fantasy XV will be coming to the PS4, it’s unknown at this time if it will be a PS4 exclusive.
Have always loved the FF series. Real excited to play this when it comes out!
