With the new hero and new setting we are creating the boldest and most unique Assassin’s Creed game yet, while still respecting the pillars of the franchise that have made it such a fan favorite. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag tells the story of an Edward Kenway, a youthful British man with a longing for adrenaline and excitement. Edward leaves the Royal Navy and its privateering and goes into piracy while the war between Britain and the Colonies comes to an end. Edward is a strong pirate who finds himself stuck in an ancient war between the Assassins and the Templars. Set at the beginning of the 1700’s, Black Flag features some of the more well-known and infamous pirates like Blackbeard and Charles Vane. The game takes players through the West Indies through a time that would be later known as the Golden Age of Pirates.
Gameplay for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will be set upon the franchise’s best features. It will have a vast open world with more than 50 locations the player can travel to. Combat combines weapons of the Assassin’s Order with weapons the era in-game, and rewards both stealthy and risky playstyles. The multiplayer will be more varied and visceral than all the other games.
Players who buy Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on the Playstation 3 or 4 can download an hour of additional game content. Black Flag can be pre-ordered at the Uplay shop.
