Valve and Capcom are excited to announce a Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil 6 crossover project. The project will feature characters from Left 4 Dead 2 exclusively in the upcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6, and certain enemies from Resident Evil 6 will appear in the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All the content will be free for the fans.
Owners of Resident Evil 6‘s PC game will be able to play as a survivor- either Rochelle, Nick, Coach, or Ellis- from Left 4 Dead 2 on the exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special and customized weapon load-out created for use in RE6. Along with the survivors, two Special Infected zombies will appear in the game mode: the Witch and the Mini Tank. This content will automatically be downloaded in the background for owners of the PC version of RE6 after April 5.
Moving from Resident Evil to L4D2 are some of the more dangerous zombies: the Lepotitsa, Napad, and the Ogroman. Owners of the PC L4D2 will be able to face a new challenge when the zombies come this spring.
“We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.” – Chet Falisnek, Valve
Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.” – Yoshiaki Hirabayashi
