If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed, you’re probably saving every penny you can to pre-order Assassin Creed III: The UbiWorkshop Edition. If you’re already excited for the release, you’ll be overjoyed to find out that Ubisoft recently released a confirmation that it will be available for PC gamers as well! Worth the money, it’s set at $99.99 plus tax and shipping/handling, and is a truly unbelievable collection.
The UbiWorkshop Edition comes with a hardcover copy of the Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia Second Edition. This 384 page, all-in-one guide to the AC universe has been updated from the First Edition, which is widely regaded by fans to be “the cult AC Encyclopedia”. Also included is Assassin’s Creed Subject 4, a compilation of the graphic novels Assassin’s Creed: The Fall and The Chain, totaling 208 pages and concluding the Animus Project, the story of Daniel Cross and his ancestor, Nikolai Orelov. Of course the game is included, and it’s all neatly packaged in a cardboard box that is made to look like an Abstergo Industries brief.
Presentation wise, it looks worth the high price. Most of the price, undoubtedly, goes towards the Encyclopedia and the graphic novels. The artwork alone would be worth it, however this being the Second Edition, Ubisoft has released that the revised content was due to the dev team and the fandom. That means the fandom had a very small personal touch to this pacakge, and that’s worth more than money can buy.
As a side note, it has been mentioned that the PS3 version has 60 minutes of extra game play, and the PC version has an unmentioned amount of extra content. No mention of extra content has be released for Xbox users.
Assassin’s Creed III will be released October 30th. Those planning to pre-order should do so quickly, as supplies are running out. Those who wish for an on-time delivery should pre-order before October 8th.
