Finally, and officially, BioWare has released the details on the highly anticipated downloadable content for Mass Effect 3, “Omega”!
First hinted at in a conference at the Montreal Comic-Con, it didn’t take long for vague information ripped from Mass Effect 3 files to make it into Hold the Line forums, officially leaking details and ruining the surprise. Later it was confirmed by Aaron Flynn, BioWare’s general manager, however, no descriptive details were released until today.
“Omega” is the third DLC for Mass Effect 3 after “Leviathan” and “From Ashes”, respectively. “Omega” is set to release on November 27th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for $15 or 1200 Microsoft Points for our XBox users. Our friends across the pond in Europe on the PlayStation Network may not see it until November 28th, however this last report is unconfirmed, but is thought to be very probable.
According to Mike Gamble, the Producer of the Mass Effect franchise, in an interview at the New York ComicCon, Omega will be it will revolving around Aria T’loak the “Pirate Queen” who is planning to retake the Omega Station, which is the mined out asteroid and a safe haven for criminals first found in Mass Effect 2. He also claims it will be “double the size” of the largest Mass Effect 3 DLC so far, however, the meaning behind this is still vague. Whether he meant content, or file size, it won’t be revealed until the release.
